Our temporary city built out in the arid black rock desert. Here it is with it's iconic sundial shape with avenues named 2:00-10:00 and streets named Esplanade then Ax-Lx.
A piece doesn't have to be big to be impactful. This artwork stunned the playa and has become a staple of Burning Man artwork since it's appearance.
The Man back in 2014 was probably my favorite to date. He stood an impressive 105' above the playa surface. At the base was a community center and workshops during the day.
Once a year, in the arid black rock desert in northwest Nevada, 70,000+ burners come together to build a temporary city full of art and wonder. It lasts for just 1 week. That city is Black Rock City, NV. Home to Burning Man.
